Revd. Roger Gayler

Roger was born at St. Margaret’s Hospital Epping, and was brought up in Walthamstow. He went to Sir George Monoux Grammar School and to St. Peter’s Walthamstow. He worked for the London Electricity Board before going to Lichfield Theological College. Following this he  served as a curate at St. Anne’s Chingford from 1969 – 1975. Roger then became Vicar of St. Mark, Marks Gate until his retirement at Easter in 2014. Not one to rest, Roger became vicar at St  Mary’s Church Stapleford Abbotts at Easter 2014. He has two children and two grandchildren. He is Chair of  the Wellgate Community Farm and in his spare time plays the drums and table tennis.
